This 5-bed family home was designed with a traditional appearance to match the local area, but internally creates large open-plan living spaces that are filled full of natural light thanks to the large amount of glazing, including three 5-panel sets of SUNFLEX SF55i aluminium bifold doors installed by P&P Glass.
The narrow sightlines of the SF55i breakdown the boundaries between inside and out when closed and yet the ultra-slim 55mm frame depths also minimise the areas that the doors take up when they are stacked open.
Each SF55i system is finished in Anthracite Grey and feature a low-threshold track, providing the ideal combination of superior protection from wind and rain, an important consideration given the location of the property, and step-free access on to the patio that extends the width of the house.
Speaking of the choice of SF55i doors, Will Mitchell SUNFLEX Trade Account Manager said "The ability to stack the doors to one end and completely open up the back of the house was key to this project, whilst the narrow frames of the SF55i ensure the impact on the view is minimised when the doors are closed. The low-threshold track provides a seamless transition between inside and out and extends the family's living area out on to the patio and beyond. With a swimming pool in the garden the doors were given a marine paint finish to ensure the aluminium frames are protected - a key consideration for coastal locations and for those that are close to swimming pools"
