The process got underway last autumn when the neighbouring unit to our existing factory was purchased and planning permission for the refurbishment of the new factory, connection of the two buildings and associated works was granted.
The new factory unit was completely overhauled and modernised and once the connection between the two buildings was made in the spring our manufacturing, stores and logistics teams began the process of occupying the new factory unit.
Once these teams had moved across the existing factory was completely refurbished and reorganised, providing a clearer work-flow through the two buildings with a dedicated goods-in and enlarged despatch hub incorporated into the layout of the factory floor.
The final stage of the build saw the office facilities in the new factory gutted and completely rebuilt, providing a new home for our accounts, logistics, product development, purchasing and CAD teams who moved from our head office in Norwich out to the factory.
The addition of the new unit has nearly doubled the size of our factory which has already helped us to increase production of our aluminium window and slim sliding door products, along with aiding the development of some existing new innovative products that will be launched soon!
