The new third option is a low threshold track, designed specifically to fit between the two previous options.
The track enables the same finished floor level to both the interior and exterior of the doors, and also benefits from the following advantages:
- When recessed in to the floor the low threshold has a sloping 14mm upstand qualifying as an official DDA low level track
- Provides a single rebate for the doors to close against providing better weather tightness than the flush track
- Supplies a thermal break improving thermal efficiency and reduces the chances of condensation
- Seal made with a rubber gasket rather than brush pile, providing a better closing.
Whilst our recommendation would still be for the weathered track, which provides the best protection from the weather, to be utilised in exposed locations the low level track is an ideal middle ground before going to the non-weathered flush track.
Example track samples for all three thresholds are available to our trade customers, if you would like one to be sent out contact email@example.com.
